Ugonna Onwukeme

Roses of Glory

Roses of Glory-
Roses of glory tell a true story.
Some are joyfully red
While others are dreadfully dead.
They can be fruitful and beautiful
Or they can be barren and detestable.
Roses symbol love from above,
They are examples of life
And how not to deprive….
The roses of glory

2010 FIFA World Cup

2010 …Here we come
2010 …The world becomes 1
2010 …Based in South Africa
2010 …Bring hope of victory to Nigeria
2010 …sounds of drums… (Doom, Dooom, and Doooom)
to sounds of Vu-vu-zu –las… (Poooom, poooom, poooom)
and crowd (Y EEEEE ssssss! WHAO!)

2010… the air full of energy
2010 …Though the disappointments of elimination still
Brings more determination…
For we shall say, ‘we come, we say, we tried’
In win or loss, no matter what Nigeria still stands!
Go 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP!!!

Birds

Birds are pleasant creatures with colourful

bodies and a beautiful voices.
Birds come in different sizes;

some are little while some are big.
Soaring at the highest point of earth

and singing like every little song
is in their little throat.

Birds, some are very friendly while some are scary,

birds are lovely pets.
Birds are everywhere even here right now,
Birds, Birds are everywhere.

Uchenna Onwukeme

Morning Sun

Scarlet sunset reflected in the silent stream
Dazed emerald forest still
In this never ending dream
Wind whispers through the grass softly
As the sun’s rays brushes the Earth’s surface
Warmth spreads
The sun’s comforting grace

As the sun slowly appears
Lesser stars show
As diamond shining tears
Wait until morning in the moon’s dull light
The sun rests during the dream-filled night
And still once more
Until the sun returns
Reflected past the water’s shore

Uchenna is a fifteen year old student at the Hillcrest School, Jos, Nigeria.
