Gimba Kakanda

Two Bubbles Burst

I

My fame transgresses
Harems of sacred virgins
Breastfed by the fallen Eve

My wind lulls
Monasteries to fragrances
To my shade comes
mermaids in shivers
I may be of ringed testes
But heave in radiance of wakeful breast
I court not for matrimony
But nocturnal sojourn lit
In boy-ful parliaments

My name transgresses
disvirgined nuns
I trick wily tortoises
And lure zany panthers
Into a colony of primed hunters
My orations soothe
the measures of scales.

II

“I’m a still pond
Green in matching meadows
Camouflaged to strides of treasons
I squat not but curl
On the crest of your ruins

And when I wriggle
I’m an ocean
Blue
I weep not in tributaries

My merchandise isn’t flesh
But you only, you, just you
Your knotted destiny
Dwells in the hip of my scent.”
